Who We AreThe Tanzanian Training Centre for International health (TTCIH) is a health training institution, established under a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC), the Novartis Foundation and the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute.
The TTCIH aims at supporting the Tanzanian government’s national health reform policy for strengthening human resource development, through providing quality health training, facilities and services.
The TTCIH is situated in the unique Ifakara cluster, a “centre of excellence” in health training, research and medical practice. Read more and check out the video.
Prof.Flora Lucas Kessy - (Director)
She is a Director ofTanzanian Training Centre for International Health based in Ifakara, Morogoro. She holds a PhD in Family and Consumer Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA (2001). Prof.Kessy has researched and published on issues related to poverty, social sectors development and good governance. She has been involved in various policy engagement activities including drafting national poverty reduction strategies. In particular, she was the team leader for Cluster II of the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty in Tanzania (MKUKUTA II) which is about improving the social well-being of all Tanzanians and which was drafted in light of achieving the national and sectoral policy objectives and Millennium Development Goals. She is also actively involved in the discussions on drafting the national social protection framework.
