TTCIH and Novartis International AG based in Switzerland, have signed a Collaboration Agreement to strengthen primary health care for early detection and sustainable quality care management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Eye Health, Sickle Cell Disease, Epilepsy and Leprosy in Tanzania.
Key Project Activities are:
Community screening
Organize and conduct medical and surgical camps, and specialized clinics.
Design, develop and run online short courses for health care workers.
Conduct health education and promotion sessions onsite and through Pambazuko Radio based in Ifakara
Relevant documents developed are the Action Plan, budget, log frame, key performance indicators (KPIs), data collection tools and safeguarding protocol. Project Management Team and Field Officers have been identified, recruited, and trained.
The project is overseen by Novartis-Kenya and will be effective between March 2022 and December 2023. Implementation of activities will commence in Ulanga and Kilombero District Councils in September 2022.
