BRIDGE Project

The Tanzanian Training Centre for International Health (TTCIH), in collaboration with local partners St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences (SFUCHAS) and Kairuki University (KU) and European partners, namely the University of Bologna (UNIBO), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), and the Research Innovation and Development Lab (ReadLab), successfully conducted the kick-off meeting for the BRIDGE Project (Building Resilient Institutions for Development in Global Health Education).The meeting took place on March 18–19, 2026, at King Jada Hotel in Dar es Salaam, and aimed to establish a shared understanding of the project’s objectives, structure, roles and responsibilities, implementation strategies, as well as its anticipated impact and sustainability mechanisms. The event brought together key project partners and invited stakeholders, including representatives from the European Union Delegation to Tanzania, the Erasmus+ National Focal Point at the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health (MoH). The BRIDGE Project will establish global health hubs in Ifakara (rural) and Dar es Salaam (urban), and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and summer schools through a blended learning approach

The project seeks to:

Improve access to high-quality professional training.
Strengthen the competencies of health professionals.
Support the resilience of Tanzania’s health system.
Promote evidence-based healthcare practices.
